Auxiliary Meeting FC Amberg called the meeting to order at 08:30. The pledge of allegiance was recited and prayer was offered by SR Nymeyer. A motion was made and passed to approve the agenda as presented. FC Amberg introduced Captain Mark Carmel from the ISC - Kodiak. He thanked the Flotilla for their role in the recent Servant Air Crash response effort; read a Meritorious Team Commendation and presented it to members of the Flotilla who were part of the response team. FC Amberg presented a letter of accomplishment and thanks to CS Nymeyer for her efforts and time on the Flotilla website and he recognized member Peter Malley for his recent completion of ICC 100, 200, & 700. Flotilla staff reports were given by CS, IS Nymeyer, MA Hartley (ABS materials are ordered), MT Murphy (Recently appointed), OP Hough (Kodiak should be on the water by July), FVC Lee (Kodiak is a priority to get boats on the water!), PA Otto, PE Reppond (ABS class scheduled for April), and PV, VE Alan Morris. Old Business: MA Hartley has materials and secured two members to assist in setting up COMFISH booth – 5:30 PM on 03/19/08 COASTIE has the new batteries and Member Ng will lead training for those interested in working with the “boat” and the kids. Coastie will only need to be available on Saturday during COMFISH. Training at Kodiak Bible Chapel on 03/13 – 06:30 PM. Instructor Training at FN Jensen’s house 03/11 – 07:00 PM New Business: We will have the Homer Coastie in town for the COHO Carnival – May 1-13. We need assistance and scheduling to be in the schools. Members Schwarz and Murphy will lead the effort. District Rear Commodore Stoddard will be in town 03/10 on his way to St. Paul. He will inspect facilities offered for use and is prepared to do crew training 03/11. See OP Hough for details. AUX-10 offered in Alameda 08/1-3/08. Contact FC Amberg for details. FC Amberg communicated with Coast Guard Officer’s Spouses about Flotilla needs and hopes to hear back from them. Members were reminded that new Kids Don’t Float boxes need preparations and painting for the upcoming season. Also, the July 4th events in Pashagshak will need AUX members; International Coastal Clean-up Day is 09/15/08 and we will participate. More information is forthcoming.
