He was assisted by a fellow Auxiliarist from Traverse City, Michigan who was in town during Crab Festival. Old Business : Crab Festival parade went well; VFC Lee and Dave Herter were thanked for their work on the float as well as KSS who loaned us the vehicle. (We need more candy for next year.) KDF boxes are out and full; one needs to be placed at the Boat House on base so that people who use the boats have access to free PFD’s. We will need to place an order for more PFD’s for next year. Frank Stearns is working on an upgraded design for the boxes which will utilize aluminum so they have a longer dock life. New Business : FC Amberg informed the Auxiliary that the Pashagshak event is challenging for several reasons and therefore we will not be out there this holiday season; further he is interested in putting together a family picnic this summer to build our group camaraderie. (Buskin Beach House was suggested.) PE Reppond and Debbie Rohrer will report back. A member announced that the Coast Guard was eliminating some aluminum dumpsters and that they might be useful for future use with our KDF boxes. Frank Stearns will evaluate their usefulness. FC Amberg reminded us that the election of officers is not that far away: please be thinking about this for our early fall meetings. Adjournment : With no further business or comments the meeting was adjourned at 09:12 |
