USCG Auxiliary Meeting
Kodiak Flotilla – 7/12/08

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by VFC George @ 08:35. (FC Amberg was absent attending his 50 th High School Reunion!)

The pledge of allegiance was recited and prayer was offered.

There were several guests who were introduced: Al Werdefhoff from the Traverse City, Michigan Auxiliary; Bill Latham the new liaison from the Coast Guard. He works with Military police and replaces Mark Gilmore.

A motion was made, seconded and approved to proceed with the agenda that was prepared by the FC.

Staff Reports: Staff reports were given as follows: VFC George announced that there is no fee for life jackets when using a moral boat on base. PA Otto reported that “Safe Boating Campaign Cards” were available for use; SR Nymeyer reminded auxiliarists to turn in their hours by attaching them to the attendance sheet. PE Reppond announced that ABS classes would resume in the fall to better accommodate summer schedules. VFC George relayed that van repair hours as an Auxiliarist for the Wounded Warrior project was permissible and that several members were involved.

Old Business: VFC George reminded the membership that Roy Stoddard and Sig Murphy would be in Kodiak from 7/25-27/08 for Crew Training; all interested members need to see OP Hough; VFC George or VC Amberg and make sure that their essential requirements were in order before arriving.

PE Reppond and Debbie Rohrer remain committed to finding an available date for a membership fellowship before the end of the summer.

VFC George reminded members that nominations for FC and VFC were coming up and to be thinking about nominations.

Pete Malley gave an update on the Wounded Warrior project returning to Kodiak and opportunities for members to participate. We will be using MWR moral boats for the fishing excursions.

New Business: August 2 is Coast Guard Day on the Base; the Auxiliary will have a presence with information and participation. All are welcome for food and fun.
