Bob Hough reported that plans are in place for Crew Training in conjunction with Reserve training that is being set up by the Fire Chief on Base and Coxswain training should be available in June. We can also access TCT through the Fire Chief’s efforts. Further, OP Hough advised that those interested get the Seamanship manual and other materials ahead of time and that ordering be done now.

New Business: Thanks were shared for Mike Herter who secured the new Coastie that arrived in town recently. We will have to secure batteries so it is operational and when it is ready for operations training will be scheduled so that it can be utilized at COMFISH and the Health Fair which are being held together this year in March. There was other discussion about utilizing Coastie in the Grade Schools as well as getting it to the villages if possible. Lyn Schwarz asked if it was possible to utilize Coastie on Earth Day.

Members were reminded by ABC instructors that there is still a need for someone to lead and coordinate the ABC training dates and for others to step up and become instructors so that the burden does not rest on a few.
