Staff Reports Mike Amberg noted they had been requested to pick up buoy and bring in so can clean and paint. Discussed City of Kodiak storage or Base auto hobby. Yakish, Lee, Campbell, and Miller volunteered to help. Suzanne Jensen reported that of 49 members, 12 have paid dues. If haven't paid yet, can mail to her at 3218 Wilton White; Kodiak. $40 per person or $75 per couple.
Member Comments Steve Campbell has been gone all summer. He is with AMSEA and former FC in Sitka. He is qualified to do commercial vessel exams and works with LT Lee at MSD. Vessels need to have sticker before can have observer on board. Has taken recreational boating exam. Four years ago went to vessel exam school. Suggest LT Lee come to next meeting. Maaike Myers and Tom Maloney reported on the Anchorage Aux leadership training. They enjoyed seeing the different flotillas represented and hearing the way they operate. Kodiak is the only flotilla who has a CG Base. Kodiak may also be the only one who doesn't have many retirees. Susan N. commented that more younger people may attend trainings than attend meetings. Maaike noted average age in Aux is 67 years old. Jackie Herter did highlights of all previous minutes and noted it was suggested awhile back that a 5-star program for 6-pack operators would be a good promotion/activity for Aux.

Old Business
New Business Susan N. suggested we put together presentations in manageable bites of 10 minutes for people who have expertise in boating or safety or anything of interest to the Aux to talk about. Next meeting is November 11th. Suggestion made to plan December's meeting as a combined meeting and Christmas get-together. Adjourned at 9:25 a.m. |
