Staff Officer Comments & Reports
1. Mark Nymeyer (VC). Mark will take USCG training being offered. Passed sign up sheets for ComFish shifts. Marine Dealer application. Comment on inflatable life jackets so comfortable to wear under coats.
2. Marine Dealer Visitation (MV). Mike Herter has to take test for this position. Reported boxes are on Base. Still need life jacket inventory so can order new.
3. Suzanne Jensen, Finance (FN), don't use old applications for new members. Herter will get copies to officers of new ones. M. Meyers will make multiple sets for us. Advised potential for dues increase.

New Business
Question of whether to have coloring contest for ComFish and what to use for prizes. Wrapped life savers in booth. Whistles available for jackets but not to kids.

Dave Yakish did a patrol walk and Harbormaster acted like it was not any of his business. Harbormaster does hourly each side. FC Lee advised ours is set up with MSD, not City Harbormaster's office. We are looking for suspicious activity or oil spills and would report to MSD. We would hand out child coupons if see any with life jackets on.

Mike Amberg commented on need for coupons/certificates. Has seen kids unattended with no vests on docks a lot. FC Lee requested Tad ask about updated coupons from McDonald's. Suzanne Jensen advised original came from District 17th.

Per Joy Ng, Coastie has been reserved and will need help with logistics. Joy will help with training. Dave Yakish will trailer back and forth. Jackie to call Homer and the USCG contact.

Comment by Mike Amberg that just to renew Master's license, one has to fly to Anchorage to be fingerprinted. Won't accept local USCG fingerprinting. Will comment on at conference.

Next ABC Class, April 8th after meeting. George to check availability for community center. Fees which cover publications are $35 member and $50 non-member. Need to advertise in newspaper and have sign posted in ComFish booth. Have some class booklets available at ComFish booth. Would be nice to get them to sign up and pay for class there if can. Ask if Dennis McMurry available to teach aids to navigation class.
